I’ve made no secret of my disappointment with NBC’s 2007 revival of Bionic Woman. Even without certain people from Battlestar Galactica involved in the production there was the potential for a relevant reinvention of a (let’s face it) throwaway ’70s SF program. But it was not to be. People started quitting the show almost from the outset, things went sideways and then the writer’s strike killed off any chance of righting the ship. The new Jaime Sommers was lost, along with any potential attached to her.
So what next? Since so many of the episodes were remarkable largely for their squandered possibilities, buying the DVD release of Bionic Woman’s first and only series isn’t a viable option. And so many mistakes were made right at the ground level that even writing fanfic about the show as it exists seems like time ill-spent.
